Tourist Part 3

After some debate the Rajan(s) decided to head to the zoo. Ah time to be yet a tourist again, how wonderful!
First of all none of us had a clue how to get there. The last time we visited was ancient times and even then it was coz our primary school had it all arranged for us. Street directory was certainly of no help, it only made me dizzy. It indicated that i had to take 3 different route and all of which required lots of walking. Fed up, we called a cab, yet again!

In the cab:
Me: Uncle, Mandai Zoo
Taxi uncle: Mandai Zoo....
(It seemed sometime before the information got into his head. All of us got ready to get out of the taxi, when he suddenly said ok and sped off. After 15 minutes of driving he then said...)
Taxi Uncle: You want to go Mandai Zoo to see the white tiger ar
Me: Errmm... haha ya Uncle
(Shakes head and laughs away)
Me: Blinks.... Blinks... Blinks

We safely reached our destination in 20 mins. Not bad not bad so much for the ever ending directions given in the street directory. The zoo was so crowded(as usual), people we nudging their way about. If you dint manage to get elbowed or pushed at, I'll be surprised. The queue was also snaking through the windy queue line. Even before we started out trial we were already drenched in our own sweat.
Finally it was our turn! Got our complimentary pass (All thank me ok!) and it was show time. The 1st thing we saw were the beautiful parrots. You could take a picture with the parrots if you wished to. Hmmm, those parrots reminded me of the white parrot that Karthik and i wanted to buy sometime ago. My mind started to dwell away...

Oh well, moving along we peeped at the lazy alligators camouflaged in the pond. (How do you know if an alligator is asleep?) They are always so still and quiet that we hardly know if they are waiting for its prey, sleeping or just plain dreaming. We kept looking at the alligator hoping it would move a little, but it didn't. Tired of looking at the lifeless reptile, we moved along.

Count our lucky timing that we were touring the zoo at the right time. Since it was lunch time, we managed to catch most of the animal feeding time. The water hippo was our next stop. It was ready cute to see the water hippos "swimming" out slowly towards the zookeeper feeding the animals. Hippos are feed lots of vegetable. Bread is something they love to eat as well. However since bread is high in fiber it is only given as a treat to them or when the zookeepers are checking the hippo's teeth.

What does your favourite candy say about you?

What Your Love of Twix Says About You

You are a generous and caring person. You are soft hearted.

You're the type who needs a partner. You just don't feel right on your own.

You are more fragile than outward appearances would suggest.

You tend to be a pushover. You are very sensitive and easy to break.

Emptyness

I came across a few pri and sec sch mate's profile on facebook. Whoa whoa whoa, some are hitched, some pregnant and the others have a pool of infants around them. And what am i pool with? The answer is "PAPERS" lol! Not that i'm complaining with my current status. I'm really happy for those whom have found true love and are happy with their lives. May they have a blissful married life :)

Somehow thou when you come across profiles of people you know and to see them married or with kids. The emotion that you go through whilst viewing them is a different thing totally.

LONELY..... That's how i felt.....

I have great friends around me. A job that i so very much love and grateful for, but still left with an empty feeling....

Sec VS Poly

As i was reading my previous post , my mind backtracked to my poly days @ NYP.
It was indeed the rolling school days of mine.

First the excitement that one can be finally relieved from the same old uniform (fades as the years go by) which we have to be stuck with for the next 4- 6 years. Pure torture it was!!!
Never ending school rules & regulations
No colored hair, ribbons, bras, strictly mud colors allowed.
Tuck in uniform ALL THE WAY IN at all times.
Tie your hair into a bun if hair's touching your shoulders
Sudden nail and hair checking during assembly period (peak period: after holidays)
No one is to cut across the school car park

( We all had to walk one big round just to exit from the school!)
Extra classes everyday in the name of study period or whatever it was called, doing 10 year series assessments till we fall asleep on our books.
Holiday assignments during every public holiday or school holidays
Bla... Bla.... Bla....
By the end of the day, I'll be so exhausted that i can hardly move a limb.

Sec VS Poly

Physical Education
Sec: Always dreading it. Praying that there'll be rain till the very last min
Poly: No more physical education!!! That seemed to be a plus factor at that point of time, but over time, i realised i kinda missed it alot. Thinking about it now, i must say PE period was heaven, Playing badminton, table tennis, captain ball, netball, volleyball, rugby (still hate 2.4km thou :p) all that fun was deprived from us. Eventhou it was an hour a week it was a period we could be free. No homework or project to submit in as well :D

T-Cher or Lecturers
Sec: We call our educators, teachers. It's always cher this cher that. Cher he take my book! Cher Cher Cher i know the answer! We all had a time where we had centipedes in our bottoms. Our bottoms barely leave the seat for 5 mins when we'll be yelping again on something.
Poly: When your in poly your educators are called lecturers and not teachers(T-cher) as what we had called them since nursery days. It was kinda funny to hear when the word t-cher slips out of one's tongue and the lecturer rolls his/her head in resentment saying No use talking to these monkey in their minds.
But then again, i realised i had alot more funny experiences with my lecturers.
I once had a lecturer whom always give a lecture whilst looking at the ceiling! Yes, the ceiling?! Even when she is giving a tutorial she always avoid all human eye contact and tend to look way past you. When we first had her as our lecturer we did not realise this. We were always caught following her eye direction which only leads up to the ceiling or above your heads! As time went on, we kinda got used to it, but everytime we couldn't help but giggle every time she looks past us to stare at something that seems like as it its dangling above our heads. Gosh!

Homework VS Projects
Sec: Everyday you bring home a ton of homework to do. If i can clearly remember, there had not been a day we din had any homework. Even if the teacher is on MC he/she would alert another teacher to pass a message (which contains twice our daily amount of homework on a regular basis) to our class. That's when we hope the teacher didn't have to go on MC in the first place at all. School holidays! It might sound all very nice but no, its a period for yet another torture. Holiday assignments, books to read up on, test after holidays etc...

*Get me a rope i feel like hanging myself

Poly: Lots of projects!!! If you don't manage to find a proper group you can work with, you DIE! The people you work with depends on your grading as well. I had a fairly manageable group when i was in poly. But unfortunately we were the very 'bo-chap' group. Always waiting till the late minute then rushing for time and missing classes lol! And during this time there was quite a number of conflicts going on with one another. Still we always stick to one another, that's the touching part ;)
